The baby’s mother cried out a loud warning(警告). “Get away from the edge,” she seemed to say. But that baby elephant kept on trying to see just how close he could get. Suddenly he fell into the water. And it was too deep for him. The elephants turned around. They rushed to the bank. They streched out (伸出) their trunks(象鼻) to the small elephant. But he was too afraid to reach for them.
