Hockey , figure skating , speed skating, short track speed skating, along with the opening and closing ceremonies will take place in the city of Vancouver. The famous ski resort Whistler will share the event with Vancouver. It will be the first winter games held in a large city while most of the previous games have taken place in smaller resort towns up to now. Vancouver has a population of 2,000,000.
